How the Mighty Have Fallen

With deep regret I announce that at April 13 at 4AM
Sevelyuk Taras Iosifovich has died.

Taras was a champion of the Gospel in Russia and Eastern Europe, planting over 400 churches and overseeing a missionary school in Ukraine from where I just returned. I was honored to call him my friend and am so very grateful I was able to see him only days before he died. His death is a great blow to all of us who loved him and care about the advance of the Good News in Russia.

Taras was a man of boundless energy and laser-like focus. He took the Christ-mandate seriously with his whole life and worked in regions overlooked by larger organizations. Most of all, I loved his sense of humor. He was a Russian bear of a man who knew how to laugh and tell a great joke.

My heart aches today. I will miss him deeply.

  1. Thanks for the info Fred. I will tell Vera, I know this will be sad news for her as well, the two of them “hit it off” during our stay and she loved Taras. Keep me informed.
