Here’s to the unknowns,
those who labor their heart’s passions in obscurity,
untouched by Hollywood’s fickle attentions,
unfamiliar to the tents of Jabez,
unscathed by Christendom’s hollow honorifics,
those who tread the unimproved byways far from
convenience stops and out of earshot from giddy bulletins on
the absolute latest definitive move of God,
who slog through the mire of unbelief holding tight
to promises made thousands of years ago,
who major in the unaccounted for,
who kneel before the deafening silence of heaven,
defiant in humility and trust,
those whose names are forgotten even by their owners,
who move like mist through regardless days and
lay themselves down unrewarded upon beds made of deferred hope,
who will rise again if necessary
to repeat for us all the sounding joy,
to you I simply say
thank you.
